For many years, movement for me was all about performance. I was deeply involved in competitive powerlifting and CrossFit, where there was a strong culture of pushing through pain and constantly working harder.

Eventually, during a competition, I pushed my body too far and suffered a serious injury that changed everything. I was told I would likely never be able to lift heavy again.

During recovery, I turned to yoga simply as a way to keep my body moving, but it ended up transforming both my mind and body. I started to embrace a completely different approach to movement – one that encouraged listening to your body and finding strength through awareness, patience, and balance.

The impact it had on me was so profound that I eventually became a yoga teacher myself so I could share this healing practice with others.
